Google sitemap generator

Postby chuckaschultz » Wed Sep 01, 2010 9:56 am

Curious to know if there have been any changes to the Google sitemap generator. Here is why I ask.

For whatever reason, my videos are no longer appearing in Google Video search results.
Rather, all my videos are appearing in Google traditional search results. Furthermore, according to Google Webmaster, almost all my videos are in the Google index. Just the traditional index - not the video index.

In a way, this is fine with me since it make sense and is somewhere I would like to be - however, the whole purpose of the video sitemap was to get listed in the Google Video search results.

That is why I ask - has there been a change (most likely on Google's side) that would have resulted in my sitemap to be tossed into the traditional index vs. the video index?

Rules for video sitemap are not changed.

But you are not alone with such issue.
If you check Googlegroups or Google webmsater's support you will find big dozens same reports.
So it's rather another Google's puzzle game and nobody knows what's going on.

I have one only suggestion that can be helpful - on video page change SWF object to standard Flash object...
Won't go into details as it could be long discussion, but in some cases such change helped a little, though I can't guarantee for how long...
Thank you,
