Nuevo Player and Google Adwords and Skins

Postby dquick1 » Fri Oct 02, 2009 3:33 pm

I recently bought the Nuevo Player and really like it. I have two questions.

1.) Can I get more specfic instructions on how to play Google Adwords as mid-roll ads. The mid-roll setup does not include a place to put html code generated by google. Are google adwords set up in the Longtail Interface. If so... what do you put for channel code and how much of the google code do you put in the url address?

2.) Where do I find the extra skins for the Nuevo player?

You mess up things.
Google Adwords is for advertisers and not for publishers.
If you think of Google Adsense - it is for websites and not for flash applications.
There are only google in-video ads, but it is available only for websites that generates more than 1 million views monthly and accepted by Google.

If you think of Longtail Ads Networks - ask them for details.
However we can already reply on one thing: html or javascirpt is not allowed for longtail midroll ads.
Adsense is not possible for longtail midroll ads.
You can put AdSense with longtail preroll or postroll videos, however don't expect so it will be well related to your website.

Please explain what I do not understand about the sentence "You can set own ads, create it yourself as simple html or javascript, or use ads from any other network, including Google Adsense." I may have messed up things, but your advertising methods section for the player says the following.

IMPORTANT INFO

Basically LongTail ads were prepared for JWPlayer.

Nuevo Player plays fine all midroll ads if it is only served by longtail.
It even allows to keep midroll position feature!

Preroll and postroll ads make NuevoPlayer inactive for the time of ad display.
You can set own ads, create it yourself as simple html or javascript,
or use ads from any other network, including Google Adsense.
You must only remember of ad size, which cannot exceed size suggested by Longtail.

ALL OF THIS CONCERNS LONGTAIL NETWORK ADS
You can do it all in longtail ads control panel, and not for Nuevoplayer internal ads.
You read it all under "Longtail Ads" overview, didn't you notice it?
Also information about "Adsense" was mentioned when describing preroll and postroll ads, not midroll ads.
For more information go to Longtail Ads Network.

Few words of Adsense.
It was never prepared to display inside flash applications.
Adsense ads are based on html content. Google looks at your website HTML to match ad best to your content.
It wouldn't be possible to do it from flash.

So even if you can see on some players Adsense ads - it is not flash.
It is html object displayed over flash object.
What Longtail offers, is that you can set any html or javascript (including Adsense) for preroll or postroll ad to display as html element over the player.
Bad news is that such ads cannot be well fitted to your HTML content, as this is Longtail Adsense account, Longtail HTML.

Personally I prefer to use own advanced code, so I can display own Adsense ad overlayed on Nuevoplayer.
Then I have full control on HTMl content and Adsense is well fitted to my site's content.
But this is something that anyone can do, if only have enough knowledge of html and javascript.
It's not a matter of flash application.
